Mission Statement

We are a committed and diverse organization of midwives, families, and birth and health professionals dedicated to a collective vision to restore and support excellence in the profession of midwifery in Connecticut.

◦ To safeguard the right of every family to choose to birth where and with whom they desire.

◦ To provide birthing families with skilled, evidence based, family centered care.

◦ To support professionalism in home birth midwifery through relationship building, transparency, accountability, and regular peer review; and through the sharing of evidence based material and resources for best practices.

◦ To restore the normalcy of home birth midwifery by educating consumers and the public at large, and by strengthening collaborative relationships with the medical community.
